Case Study:
Red Bench Bakery
The Project
To design a mobile app for a local bakery.
The Process
Solo UX designer and researcher from conception to delivery. Conducted interviews, made digital wireframes, created low and high fidelity prototypes, conducted usability studies, and iterated on designs.
The Problem
There were two different target users with different pain points. One user - a working professional - needed a fast and convenient way to order large quantities of baked goods keeping in mind various dietary needs. The other user - a suburban retiree - needed a way to order bakery items while navigating with hearing loss.
The Goal
The goal of this project was to create an app that solved the targeted users’ pain points to make ordering from the Red Bench Bakery more efficient and accessible.
What I learned
While designing the Red Bench Bakery app, I learned that the users’ needs are often different than my initial assumptions. I also learned that even if you think you thought of it all, user testing will generally find something that you missed.
What would make it better
I would like to refine the transitions between pages to make the navigation smoother.
