Case Study:
CHEF
The Project
Create a responsive website for a cooking skill site.
The Process
Solo UX designer and researcher from conception to delivery. Conducted interviews, made digital wireframes, created low and high fidelity prototypes, conducted usability studies, accounted for accessibility, and iterated on designs.
The Problem
Users of cooking sites have to be able to save or print recipes for future use as there is a lot of pre-planning involved when cooking a meal. They also have limited counter space for a full laptop to view their recipes.
The Goal
The goal of this website was to make it responsive so it could also be accessed via iPad or phone. The other goal was to include more tailored interactions that a chef would need from a site such as saving, forwarding, or printing a recipe. As the site included video, it was also important to include features for accessibility to those who would be unable to access visuals or audios.
What I learned
I used this project to learn more about micro interactions as well as video accessibility.
What I would do differently
I would like to delve even deeper into the micro interactions and to work more on the search feature of the site as this is a very important feature for users.
